Max Kutschenreuter (he/him) is a Dutch film director, researcher, artist and writer whose practice is located between Berlin and Amsterdam.
He graduated with a BA from the Rietveld academy (2014), following two short films (Expoterygota & Icarus), and after an 8-year stint in Berlin, graduated in 2025 from the Master of Film at the Film Academy Amsterdam. His research currently focusses on the remembrance and documentation of the spaces in which queer intimacy flourishes. He is currently working on his film For a brief space in time with Fast Boy production company.

Max has been the recipient of the Vice x IDFA pitch award which resulted in the documentary ‘Sex Sirens’, as well as the recipient of the IQMF pitch award for his work on ‘To be a Man’.
